Hamilton Printer Tray Pulls
The largest manufacturer of wood type in the United States, Hamilton Mfg. Co. was based out of Wisconsin and provided wood type for all manner of popular printed materials. Wood type would have been organized in shallow drawers commonly called printer’s trays, which were stacked vertically into tall cabinets. The pulls on these trays changed over the years, with later versions being made of thinner and less expensive materials and featuring interchangeable labels to organize type by different styles. This style, however, is a classic and sturdy cast iron pull with the manufacturer’s name and an ornamental egg and dart border.
