Shop Henry Disston and Sons Antique 16" No. 2 Compass Saw ca. 1878

Henry Disston and Sons Antique 16" No. 2 Compass Saw ca. 1878

$65.00

Made for cutting elegant curves, this compass saw by H. Disston and Sons is long enough to make a really cool wall hanging in a gallery wall installation or above a doorway for an eclectic space. The wood handle has the name J. Jennings engraved, a personal touch that would have been added by the owner of this beautiful tool. While Disston saws are relatively common and were manufactured over a long span of time, starting way back in the 1840s, the style of etching on the blade, the style of screws, and the “medallion” style date this circa 1878.
